Bill Kelly and his band the Blues Empacts play hard-knockin' house-rockin' blues music. If you listen closely, you'll hear a subtle hint of the bayou blended with the electricfied sound of the Mississippi Delta.
Kelly, the group's bass player, is orignally from Baton Rouge, LA. Growing up there , he absorbed the blues. "Blues was all they had inthat area...that and country." We listened to Slim Harpo, Ray Charles, BB King and Guitar Slim just to name a few.
The band started in 1961 in Mannheim, Germany after they found out they could get out of detail. They played in the local clubs and enjoyed the reactions they recei ved from the audience.
JM Randalls is home base for the Empacts. They were one of the first bands to play there when Randall open the club. Randall's is one of the best blues clubs in the area, catering to local and national blues acts.
