Will "Dirty Red" GarrettWill hails from Nashville, TN and is one of, if not the best, front men in the area. For 35 years or more music has been his passion. Will toured with Bobby Bird for 5 years in France, England, Japan and Denmark. He started playing the blues in Nashville with the Funky Mothers Blues Band in Nashville. When he relocated to Virginia he connected with the Natchel' Blues Network and hooked up with the Empacts. It ain't a party 'til Dirty Red shows up !!
Larry Williams
Larry, a native of Hampton, VA. is the drummer of the group and also lends his talent on vocals. Larry started playing drums in high school with the marching band, jazz band and the string orchestra. In the early years of his carreer, he started his own band and played at many of the local talent shows and local venues. He has played backup for Otis redding, Chuck Berry, Marve Johnson, Patti Labelle & the Blue Bells, Gene Chandler and many others during the 60's. Larry brings his own brand of percussions to the Empacts, making for a night of great music.
Mark Hopkins
Mark is the lead guirist for the group and brings to the table a brand of blues, R&B & soul rhythm playing that is always appreciated by the audiences they entertain and get the opportunity to see them perform. Mark hails from Newport News, VA and has been a blues fan for many years. Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, B B King & Buddy Guy are among some of his favorite artist and early blues influences. Mark has sat in with many local musicians and can be found on stage at Goodfellas on Tuesdays for their weekly open mic backing up all those willing to share their talents with an appreciative audience. Catch Mark anywhere the Blues Empacts perform.
Bill Kelly Bill "The Blues Man" Kelly, who hails from Baton Rouge, LA is the manager and the bass player for the Blues Empacts. The roots of the goup go back to the early 1970's when Kelly was stationed in Germany.. All of his musicians were enlisted men and that's where it all kinda' started. Kelly himself has been playing guitar for over 40 years and Germany & Panama were among the many places he has exposed others to the blues. Kelly brings a wealth of experience and kick butt groove to the band. Gowing up in Baton Rouge surely added flavor to this gumbo of talent.
Bob Albergotti To say that Bob Albergotti is a harmonica player as if he's just another harmonica player is an understatement. Bob hails from Nashville, TN and is the ruler by which other harp players are measured. In many bands the harmonica is used to accent and add flavor to whatever type of music is being presented.....hardly ever a main instrument....that is until Bob takes stage. Bob has been playing the harp since the early 70's and hasn't stopped since. Bill Kelly BassWill Garrett VocalsMark Hopkins GuitarLarry Williams Drums Bob Albergotti Harp Williamsburg, VA
